BOOK CLUB & SOCIAL CLUB - monthly; get in touch to book your space

Each month we run a book club, bringing authors, writers, and translators along to join the discussion. We also have a monthly social club - a place for you to come, alone or with friends, and chat about some of our (and your!) favourite books and drink some wine (or beer or coffee or softs or tea!) and create a wonderful social reading community.

To secure a place at our next book club or social club, and to get copies of next month's reads, please pop into the shop, message on Instagram, or email us at hello@collectedbooks.co.uk

SEPTEMBER BOOK CLUB - Wednesday 3 September, 6.30pm
Bonding with Mariel Franklin

Bonding by Mariel Franklin is an "audacious, hot, deeply uncomfortable, and genuinely thrilling" read, according to Saba Sams, author of Send Nudes and Gunk. Why not find out for yourself and join our September book club to chat with author Mariel Franklin about this book?!
Mary is single, jobless, and on her way to Ibiza. There, at a party, she meets Tom, a brilliant chemist on the verge of launching a new drug that claims to cure the anxieties of modern life.
Back in London after a heady trip, Mary begins going out with Tom and working for her sort-of-ex Lara, who has created innovative dating app designed to revolutionize the industry. As tech and pharma collide, she is forced to question what love and success mean in a world that is hurtling out of control. Electrifying, urgent, and darkly funny, Mariel Franklin's debut Bonding is a uniquely modern story of sex, tech and freedom in the messy tangle of our digital age.

If there is one thing scarier than a dystopian novel about the future, it’s one written in the past that has already begun to come true... Gloria Steinem

A brilliant and endlessly rich modern classic, set in the dystopian future of 2024 America, Parable of the Sower follows a young woman with extraordinary powers through a violent time of chaos where only the rich and powerful are safe. Often less read than the likes of 1984 and The Handmaid’s Tale this is a gripping must-read that we can't wait to discuss!

Send us an email or Instagram message to get your name on the list AND to reserve a copy of the book to read ahead...
