Join us for an evening packed with readings by poets from across the North East, hosted by Forward Prize nominee, and winner of the Bridport Poetry Prize, Mary-Jane Holmes.
On the bill:
Diane Cockburn - the title poem of her latest collection Electric Mermaid was highly commended in the Forward Prize and is published by Arrowhead Press. Diane is currently completing a new collection of poetry
Kym Deyn - Kym's prose and poetry has been widely published in a range of anthologies and magazines, including their poetry pamphlet Dionysia published by Verve Poetry Press
Kate Fox Robinson - Kate's blog www.footnotesonlife.co.uk filters the world through the question what is the footnotes reveal more than we might imagine? She has also featured at the recently formed poetry and spoken word event series For Better For Verse in Consett
Katharine Goda - Katharine is a poet and creative practitioner based in Durham whose work has been published in a number of magazines and anthologies. Her debut poetry collection Safety Measures Against the Sea is published by Vane Women Press
Avril Joy - Avril is an award-winning novelist, short story writer, and poet. Her books include Sometimes a River Song, This One Wild Place, and The Silent Women. Going in with Flowers explores in poetry and prose the lives of women behind bars and is published by Linen Press
Caitlin Kendall - Caitlin's work is magical, melodic and homely, whilst retaining an air of politically-charged attitude, zipping together the turbulent journey of motherhood with a deep connection with the earth and nature. Her poetry collection Nothing is Yours is published by Bent Key Publishing
