BOOK CLUB & SOCIAL CLUB - monthly; get in touch to book your space

Each month we run a book club, bringing authors, writers, and translators along to join the discussion. We also have a monthly social club - a place for you to come, alone or with friends, and chat about some of our (and your!) favourite books and drink some wine (or beer or coffee or softs or tea!) and create a wonderful social reading community.

Well, social club saw 2024 out in style with a great bit of classic Christmas crime in the shape of Elizabeth Anthony's lost novel, Dramatic Murder, and now we're gearing up for the new year with the English language debut from Kim Ryeo-ryeong. With a Netflix adaptation just out too, The Trunk is an edgy feminist satire perfect for fans of Convenience Store Woman, Yellowface and the books of Kazuo Ishiguro, ready for you both to read and watch while you wade through the turkey curry.... We hope that comparisons like that, as well as having a super recent small screen adaptation available, is going to make for some great conversation 📺

Reading the book is strongly encouraged before you attend so you can get the maximum juicy discussion - there won't be any holding back to avoid spoilers!
